About the artist

Faisal Hussain is an experienced Creative Producer and Artist who graduated from Falmouth Art College in 1999.

His work is showing at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2020 and he is currently working on '(In)security', a commission with academics from the University of Birmingham and Eastside Projects.

He has recently completed an exchange trip to Pakistan with The British Council and in 2019 as an artist in residency in Berlin at Urban Nation, selected for the NAE OPEN as well as exhibiting at Manchester Contemporary with Vivid Projects. He is also working on touring his continuing solo exhibition 'Suspect Objects Suspect Subjects' in 2020 in London at SOAS and Margate during the Turner Prize 2019/20. His first solo show saw Faisal asked to speak at The University of Birmingham, on BBC National & local news The National in UAE.

He is the Director of True Form Projects which produced the Four Fathers project shown at the Library of Birmingham and the 'History Of Asian Youth Culture' project shown at Birmingham City University's Parkside Gallery and at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Faisal has also worked with many arts organizations, social enterprises and businesses, and has produced a variety of media for them, including graphic and web design, video and audio production.

Faisal was chosen to take part in Chris Ofili’s Freeness project and his independent satirical music video was specially mentioned by NPR Radio on the subject of 'Pakistan Writers Take Center Stage' within the US by Sarfraz Manzoor and by the Guardian UK by Editor Jonathan Freedland.
